Where are you located?

We’re in Great Barrington, MA, in the Berkshires region of western Massachusetts, close to Stockbridge, Lenox, and Lee.

Find our address and directions here »

We’re within driving distance of the Pioneer Valley and the Hudson Valley region of New York. For therapy intensives, the Berkshires are easy to reach from New York, Boston, Connecticut, and beyond.

We also offer online sessions. Details below.

Do you offer therapy in person or online? Can I do both?

We offer both in-person and online therapy. Some of our clients do a mix of in-person and online, particularly if they live a little farther away.

Online sessions are available to clients who are physically located in Massachusetts, New York, Vermont, Maine, or Florida* at the time of their session.

Therapy intensives are only available in person.

How does online therapy work?

We use a secure, HIPAA-compliant video platform (similar to Zoom). If you choose online therapy, we’ll give you setup information before you get started. You’ll receive a link before each session.

Some people also meet for telehealth by phone. If that’s an option you’d like to try, you can talk to your therapist.

Can you do somatic therapy online?

Yes, you can absolutely do somatic therapy online. We use mind-body and somatic approaches in all our work. You might be surprised at how creative we can get.

What are your fees?

For information on fees, insurance, and payment policies, visit our Fees & Investment page »

Can I use my insurance?

We are a self-pay practice, which means we don’t work with insurance companies directly. If your plan allows you to see professionals who are not in your network (called an out-of-network benefit), we can provide a superbill (receipt) for possible reimbursement.

You may also be able to use your flexible spending account (FSA), health reimbursement account (HRA), or health savings account (HSA) to pay for therapy.

More details are on our Fees & Investment page »

What is a typical therapy session like?

This is a question we get asked all the time. You might already guess that there is no such thing as a typical session. That’s part of what makes this work interesting and transformative.

Therapy looks different depending on what you’re working on, where you are in the process, and what you need that day. At times, we do a lot of talking and reflection. Other sessions are more body-centered, creative, or experiential. We also offer walk-and-talk and outdoor therapy that can incorporate somatic and creative approaches.

In a session, we might include a little body awareness or explore small gestures, or use more expansive movement or creative expression. We collaborate with you to create the flow of sessions and pay attention to your needs for pacing, comfort, and challenge, as well as what feels compelling to you.

How can I learn more about how you do somatic therapy?

Visit our somatic therapy page, where we share about why we love somatic therapy, what it is, and how it’s a part of our integrative mind-body approach.

How long are sessions?

Our standard sessions are 60 minutes. Meeting for a full hour rather than the typical 50-minute session allows for more in-depth work and integration.

Extended sessions range from 75 minutes to 3 hours.

Therapy intensives offer a focused and immersive therapy experience. They range from a half day to several days. Learn more about therapy intensives »

How often are sessions?

For regular ongoing therapy, all clients start with weekly sessions. As you develop a relationship with your therapist and continuity in the process, you and your therapist may decide to meet less often.

Therapy intensives are planned individually for each client.

What are your hours?

We offer weekday appointments, typically from 9am to 5pm.

Therapy intensives are also generally scheduled on weekdays, but can include Saturdays or Sundays at a weekend rate.

How long do I need to be in therapy to see results?

Five minutes or a lifetime. There are many benefits you can begin to experience right away, even when therapy is brand-new. It can also take time to integrate the work and make larger shifts in your life.

Our goal is to help you take something useful away from every session while creating transformation one small change at a time.

How long you stay in therapy is up to you. We collaborate with you to assess your goals, your progress, and what feels right for you as you work with us. Most of our clients do long-term therapy.

If you choose a therapy intensive, the same principles apply, but the process is concentrated and immersive.

What can I expect during my first appointment?

Our goal is to dive right into therapy with you from the very beginning. We handle most intake paperwork through your client portal before your first session so we don’t have to do much in the way of administrative stuff.

When you arrive (in person or online), we will cover some basics about working together and briefly review your intake paperwork. Then, we’ll focus on getting to know one another and start exploring what brings you here and what you’re hoping for.

For clients doing therapy intensives, the process is a little different. Learn more about intensives »

How do I get started?

The first step is a free 30-minute phone consultation. You’ll have a chance to talk about what you’re looking for, get your questions answered, and be matched with a therapist who is a good fit. We’ll schedule your first session and get you started.

Therapy intensives also start with a phone consultation. Learn more about intensives »
